Vice Protocol: The VI Hub ("the App") is an unofficial fan-made application. This policy explains what information the App collects and how it is used.
The App may collect anonymous usage analytics (such as screen views and feature interactions) through Firebase Analytics, crash reports through Firebase Crashlytics, and content you save locally on your device (such as favorite wallpapers and widget preferences). If you enable notifications, the App may store an Expo push token and related installation / preference records (for example news and launch reminder categories) in our Supabase backend so we can deliver remote or local alerts you opted into. We do not require an account to use the App.
If you choose to save a wallpaper, the App requests permission to write an image to your photo library. Images are saved only when you explicitly tap download. We do not read or upload your existing photos.
On the App Store production build, the App may use the Meta (Facebook) SDK to measure app-install advertising campaigns. This can involve an advertising identifier (IDFA) when you allow tracking via Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt. Meta processes this data under Meta’s privacy policy. We do not send your name, email, or other account identifiers to Meta — the App has no login. You can deny tracking; the App remains fully usable. Development and preview builds do not initialize the Meta SDK.
The App uses Supabase to fetch public content (launch date, news, wallpapers, videos) and to store optional push installation records; Firebase for analytics and crash reporting; Expo services for app delivery and push; and, on the App Store production build only, the Meta (Facebook) SDK for app-install advertising measurement. These providers process data according to their own privacy policies.
Local preferences and favorites are stored on your device. Analytics and crash data are retained by Firebase according to Google's data retention settings. Push installation and preference rows are retained until you request deletion or we purge inactive records.
You can revoke photo library access, notification permission, and tracking permission in iOS Settings at any time. Uninstalling the App removes locally stored data from your device. Notification category toggles in the App Settings screen control which alerts you receive after OS permission is granted.
